Sources of evidence and method: The article is based on a study connected with school-based development in three lower secondary schools. The aim of this article is to test the teacher leadership initiated by teacher professional development abroad, as a factor of organisational change in a structural equation model. This articlefocuses on the factors that influence the professional development of teachers after they have completed their basic education. Specifically, the book provides evidence supporting the validity of the theoretical framework upon which this approach is based. Learning study introduces a new Variation Theory of Learning. We build on the accountability, professional development, and school context literature and expand the explanatory framework to include teacher experience with, and use of, school-based professional development in instructional practices.
